According to the Bureau of National Statistics, Kazakhstan's oil export volume increased from 63.6 million tonnes in 2015 to 76.3 million tonnes in 2025, a rise of 20%. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This is the highest figure since at least 2015. For instance, in 2022 Kazakhstan exported 65.2 million tonnes, in 2024 — 71 million tonnes, and in 2025 — 76.3 million tonnes. In the last year alone, supplies increased by 7.4%.
Italy remains the largest buyer of Kazakh oil. In 2025, 28.9 million tonnes of oil worth $15.2 billion were exported to this country. Italy accounted for 37.8% of the total physical volume and 38.1% of the value volume of oil exports.
The second place was taken by the Netherlands: 10.6 million tonnes worth $5.6 billion. Next were France (5.6 million tonnes worth $3 billion), Romania (5.3 million tonnes worth $2.6 billion), and Greece (4.3 million tonnes worth $2.3 billion). In total, these five largest buyers accounted for more than 70% of the physical and value volume of Kazakhstan's oil exports.
Other major destinations include China (3.8 million tonnes worth $2 billion), Turkey (2.9 million tonnes worth $1.5 billion), Germany (2 million tonnes worth $1 billion), Singapore (1.8 million tonnes worth $763.2 million), and South Korea (1.5 million tonnes worth $807 million).
At the end of 2025, 64.8 million tonnes of Kazakh oil were transported through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. In addition, about 1.2 million tonnes of oil are exported annually via the Baku — Tbilisi — Ceyhan route, and the Azerbaijani side has stated its readiness to increase acceptance of Kazakh oil to 2.2 million tonnes per year.
In the first half of the year, i.e., January-June, Kazakhstan exported 33 million tonnes of oil, while in the corresponding period of 2025 this figure was 35.4 million tonnes. The volume of supplies decreased by 6.7%.
