The Kurultai approved in the first reading a bill on ratification of the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Serbia on military-technical cooperation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The agreement provides for specific measures. These include: mutual supplies of military-purpose products; work on weapons and military equipment, servicing and repair; joint scientific research and experimental design work; technology transfer; joint testing of weapons and military equipment models.
According to Deputy Defense Minister Shaikh-Khasan Zhazyqbaev, a joint working group will be created to implement military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
"Today we have more than 15 such agreements on military cooperation. The agreement formalized with Serbia is the same, there are no differences," Zhazyqbaev says.
It is worth noting that this agreement was formalized in 2020 in the city of Belgrade. By law, the parliaments of both countries must ratify this document. In the Kurultai, the bill passes through three readings.
