A working meeting of the leadership of the Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Main Directorate for Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation was held in St. Petersburg. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the parties discussed current issues of maintaining law and order at transport infrastructure facilities and ensuring the safety of citizens.

The Kazakh delegation was led by the Head of the Transport Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, Abzal Zhumataev. The Russian side was represented by the Head of the Main Directorate for Transport of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Oleg Kalinkin.

According to the ministry, the meeting continued the dialogue between representatives of the transport police of the two countries, which began in October last year in Almaty. The main purpose of the visit was to study practical experience in ensuring law and order at the main facilities of the transport complex in St. Petersburg.

During the working visit, the delegation of the Transport Police Department got acquainted with the experience of organizing the activities of their Russian colleagues.
