Exactly 34 years ago, on October 22, 1992, diplomatic relations were established between the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. According to Russian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Alexey Borodavkin, this event marked the beginning of the current stage in the development of allied ties and comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Historical roots and unshakable principles

"The historical roots of friendship are deep. Building on strong traditions, as well as the enduring closeness and brotherhood between our peoples, Russia and Kazakhstan base their interstate relations on the unshakable principles of mutual respect for each other's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity," the ambassador noted.

He emphasized that cooperation is dynamically expanding in all key areas: defense and security, foreign policy, economy, science, education, culture and art.

The core of Eurasian integration

Moreover, thanks to the joint diplomatic efforts of Russia, Kazakhstan and other friendly states, the core of Eurasian security and economic integration is being formed. At the same time, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union serve as its foundation.

Borodavkin noted that Moscow and Astana are successfully cooperating within the UN, CIS, SCO, BRICS and CICA.

Results of the anniversary

"The next anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations allows us not only to analyze the large-scale work done at the interstate level, but also to outline plans for further expanding bilateral ties in all areas in the interests of the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan," the ambassador said.

He wished success to the foreign ministries and diplomats of the two countries in fulfilling their important mission.
