An international laboratory named after Chinese academician Gao Fu has been opened in Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The laboratory, established at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), will conduct joint scientific research between Kazakhstan and China in the fields of biosafety, microbiology, and the One Health concept.

"The laboratory will carry out research on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, monitoring of zoonotic infections, development and implementation of modern methods of molecular diagnostics and genomic research, as well as creation and improvement of technologies for ensuring biosafety," said ministry specialists.

Kazakh scientists will be able to contribute to solving global scientific challenges in healthcare, veterinary medicine, and food safety.
