The leadership of the Ministry of Transport met with representatives of the airline "Urumqi Airlines". The Chinese side expressed readiness to open new regular flights on the routes Urumqi – Karaganda, Kulja (Yining) – Astana, and Kulja (Yining) – Almaty.

In turn, the Kazakh side proposed to consider the possibility of opening flights to Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey, as well as in the future to new regional airports in Zaisan and Katon-Karagai.

"This initiative will contribute to the development of tourism, increasing transport accessibility and strengthening trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and China," the official statement said.

Urumqi Airlines uses COMAC C909 aircraft manufactured in China. In this regard, the parties also discussed a joint project to create a joint regional airline that would carry out regional transportation using COMAC aircraft in Kazakhstan.
