Kazakhstan and China have agreed to further expand air traffic. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Ministry of Transport, bilateral negotiations between the aviation authorities of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China took place on the sidelines of the "China – Central Asia" (C5+1) conference in Tashkent.

Negotiations

During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for further expanding international air traffic between Kazakhstan and China, including increasing the number of regular flights and expanding the geography of flight destinations.

"Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to increase the number of permitted flights per week from 150 to 180, as well as to add two more Chinese cities – Chengdu and Kashgar – to the route network," the statement said.

Significance of the agreement

The implementation of the agreements will open up new opportunities for airlines of both countries, increase the accessibility of direct flights, create comfortable conditions for passengers and expand transit transportation opportunities, the ministry said.

Thus, air communication between Kazakhstan and China continues to strengthen. The increase in the number of permitted flights from 150 to 180 per week will contribute to the development of economic, tourist and cultural ties between the two countries. In addition, the inclusion of Chengdu and Kashgar in the route network will give passengers the opportunity to fly directly to new destinations in China.

Recall that earlier Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan agreed to increase the number of flights between the two countries.
