The Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified an agreement on mutual free use of buildings and land plots for diplomatic missions in Astana and Bishkek. This is necessary for the needs of the two countries' embassies, the Senate noted. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The document was signed on August 22, 2025. Land and buildings are provided for a period of 49 years with the possibility of extension. Thus, the Kazakh embassy in Bishkek was allocated a land plot of 0.75 hectares.
For the residence of the Kazakh ambassador, a cottage with a total area of 531.66 square meters and an adjacent land plot of 0.17 hectares was allocated. And for the Kyrgyz embassy in Astana, a land plot of 0.74 hectares was allocated, as well as a cottage with an area of 1267.8 square meters and an adjacent land plot of 0.125 hectares for the residence of the Kyrgyz ambassador.
"The said real estate is exempt from all taxes and fees levied in both countries. In turn, the parties independently bear all costs related to construction, repair and maintenance of buildings, as well as utility payments in accordance with the tariffs in force in the host country," said Andrey Lukin, Chairman of the Committee on International Relations.
According to the Senate, ratification of the Agreement will contribute to further strengthening Kazakh-Kyrgyz relations, developing political dialogue and expanding bilateral cooperation.
