Kurultai deputies ratified an agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters between Kazakhstan and Pakistan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Under the agreement, the two countries will exchange information on export and transit declarations. To this end, the electronic systems of the customs authorities of the two states will be integrated.

According to Finance Minister Madi Takiyev, there is currently no such electronic integration between the two countries. "The agreement will make it possible to create this system. Technical issues and the format of information exchange will be determined by the revenue authorities of the two countries. After the system is launched, we will be able to see declarations in advance," Takiyev said at a Kurultai meeting.

According to the minister, information exchange is currently conducted on paper. Once the electronic system is launched, the Kazakh side will be able to know in advance what goods have been shipped from Pakistan and the volume of cargo. "When crossing our border, we will compare the data. Thus, the time required for control measures will also be reduced. After inspecting the cargo and comparing it with the information in the documents, we will let it through," the minister explained.
