Kazakhstan and Korea will jointly produce stewed meat, the Ministry of Trade and Integration reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The workshop will be built in Kazakhstan, with the project carried out by Samsar Investment on the Kazakh side. The total investment from both sides will amount to $1.3 million.
The agreement was reached at the Kazakhstan-Korea business forum in Almaty. The Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), founded in South Korea 55 years ago, specially arrived at the forum with a delegation of about a hundred businessmen.
Additionally, Kazakhstan will export 1,000 tons of beef to South Korea worth $13 million. Also, the Kazakh company Samsar Investment has agreed to export 3,000 tons of refined sunflower oil per month.
"In total, following the business forum, which was attended by more than 200 business representatives from both countries, commercial documents worth $54.8 million were signed," the statement said.
The ministry noted that trade turnover between Kazakhstan and South Korea is growing every year. For instance, last year trade between the two countries amounted to $3.17 billion, up 1.3% compared to 2024.
In January-June 2026, trade between the two countries totaled $1.3 billion. At the same time, Kazakhstan's exports to Korea increased by 17.2%.
