Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held expanded talks to discuss strengthening political dialogue, developing trade and economic ties, and new areas of cooperation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Tokayev noted that the Cambodian Prime Minister's first visit to Kazakhstan would help revitalize bilateral relations. "Kazakhstan regards Cambodia as a reliable partner in Southeast Asia and one of the important countries in expanding interaction with ASEAN," the head of state said.

The President said there is potential to develop cooperation in high technology and artificial intelligence. He also noted that Kazakhstan has been achieving positive results in developing e-government. "With common will and strong political resolve, I am confident that we can expand cooperation in many areas that meet our mutual interests," Tokayev said.

Hun Manet, in turn, emphasized the importance of cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries. According to him, more than 120 Cambodian students have received education in Kazakhstan. "Today, many of them work as governors and state secretaries in provinces. They also hold responsible positions in government agencies. This shows that our countries are linked by a common history and close relations between our peoples," the Cambodian Prime Minister said.

Hun Manet expressed Cambodia's intention to revitalize cooperation in food security, agriculture, and the processing industry. Following the talks, the parties expressed confidence in increasing trade volumes, strengthening business ties, and developing new areas of partnership. A joint statement was adopted, and the signing of a number of documents is planned.
