Today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit. After an official welcome ceremony at the Palace of Independence, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Irakli Kobakhidze held talks in a narrow format, the Akorda press service reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed confidence in the success of the visit and noted that Kazakhstan views Georgia as a strategically important and traditional partner. "We have established close ties in many areas, including economic and humanitarian fields. I believe such cooperation should continue in the future. As head of state, I will make every effort to ensure our cooperation develops dynamically and effectively. You are considered a strategic partner of Kazakhstan. We highly value friendship and cooperation with your country. Kazakhs truly respect your country and people," the head of state said.
Tokayev also noted that many Kazakhs travel to Georgia today and emphasized that there are still many untapped opportunities.
In turn, Irakli Kobakhidze stated that Georgia attaches special importance to relations with Kazakhstan and expressed joy over the strategic nature of the partnership. "However, as you said, we still have a lot of unrealized potential. Therefore, we must make efforts to fully realize it. We support strong political and economic cooperation, as well as collaboration in education, culture, and many other areas. We are particularly interested in expanding ties in all directions. After all, we will sign a Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership. I am confident that this document will give new impetus to bilateral cooperation," the Georgian Prime Minister said.
