Kazakhstan and Greece discussed the situation around the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Hellenic Republic to Kazakhstan Antonia Katsourou, the Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state of bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Greece and prospects for their further development, issues of interaction in multilateral formats, as well as the schedule of events planned until the end of this year. Ashikbayev paid special attention to cooperation in the energy sector.
In this context, the parties exchanged views on the situation around the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which is of strategic importance for the export of Kazakh oil to European markets.
The importance of ensuring stable operation of energy infrastructure, uninterrupted and sustainable supply of energy resources to international markets, as well as the safety of ships and freedom of navigation was discussed.
In turn, the Greek Ambassador confirmed the readiness of the Greek side to further develop bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, including energy, trade, investments, transport and humanitarian ties.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue work on maintaining political dialogue on a regular basis and expanding Kazakh-Greek partnership in all areas, the ministry reported.
