Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Aslan Abdraimov met with Dr. Caroline Milow, head of the program of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further implementation of joint projects. In particular, they discussed GIZ's financial support for equipping the Situational Analysis Center of the National Hydrogeological Service 'Kazhydrogeology' with modern equipment and special programs for managing groundwater resources.

They also discussed opportunities to expand cooperation under the project 'European Union for Sustainable Central Asia: Joint Action and Cooperation in Water, Energy and Climate Change'.

Additionally, the results of the project 'Save Water – Save the Future!' implemented in Kyzylorda were reviewed. If an agreement is reached, it is planned to implement this project from 2027 in other southern regions of Kazakhstan.

'Germany is a reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the water sector. Joint projects – from groundwater management to fostering a water-saving culture – are yielding concrete results. Therefore, we intend to gradually expand this cooperation,' said Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Aslan Abdraimov.

GIZ representatives confirmed their readiness to continue providing expert and technical support to the ministry, including assistance in developing basin management plans for water resources.
