Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov met with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Kazakhstan, Heike Renate Peitsch. During the meeting, in particular, the question of creating a Kazakhstan-Germany water hub was considered. According to the statement, this is a platform intended for the exchange of technologies, the introduction of digital solutions and the development of pilot projects.
Proposal presented at a round table in Berlin
The proposal to create the water hub had been presented during a round table in Berlin on the topic "Strategic partnership of Kazakhstan and Germany in the water sector: a new level".
Ministry has drafted the hub concept
Currently, the ministry has drafted the concept of the hub. The document has been sent for approval to the German association German Water Partnership (GWP), which unites more than 300 companies in the water sector.

"We view the creation of a joint water hub as the formation of a practical platform where state bodies of Kazakhstan and Germany, business representatives, scientific and expert communities will interact, where modern technologies will be tested and joint projects will be implemented," said Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
Infrastructure modernization projects discussed
The parties considered opportunities to attract German technologies, engineering solutions and expert experience to the implementation of projects to modernize Kazakhstan's water management infrastructure.
