Holders of diplomatic and service passports of Kazakhstan and Benin will be able to travel to each other without visas after the agreement enters into force. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry, the document was signed on September 24 in New York. It does not apply to citizens with ordinary foreign passports.
The agreement was signed by the heads of the diplomatic departments of the two countries, Mukhtar Tileuberdi and Corinne Amory Brunet. They met on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
"The document is aimed at simplifying mutual travel of holders of diplomatic and service passports of the two states," the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
The ministry also expects that the agreement will help strengthen political and trade-economic ties with Benin.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that citizens of 50 countries will have to deposit up to $20 thousand when obtaining a US visa.
