Last year, trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Belarus increased by 27.7%. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

This was stated by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Turchin.

"According to statistical data, trade turnover growth last year was 27.7%, and based on the results of the first 7 months of this year it was 20%. There are new opportunities to further expand interaction and broaden the range of supplied products, including in the railway engineering sector," noted Olzhas Bektenov.

According to the results of 2025, mutual trade turnover amounted to about $1.2 billion. In the first 7 months of this year, this figure reached $723 million.

Industrial cooperation issues were also discussed at the meeting. Within the framework of Kazakh-Belarusian partnership, 13 joint projects worth more than $200 million have been implemented, and production of "Belarus" tractors, "Gomselmash" combines, automobiles and other equipment has been localized in Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan is interested in further expanding the production of leading Belarusian enterprises locally. Kazakhstan expressed readiness to increase supplies of sunflower, safflower and rapeseed oils, as well as finished grocery products, to the Belarusian market.

"Positive dynamics continue in transport and transit cooperation: in the first 7 months of this year, the volume of rail freight between the two countries increased by 18.7% and reached 4.8 million tonnes," the government statement says.

Following the negotiations, documents aimed at developing trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the regions of Kazakhstan and Belarus were signed. Among them:

  • 01a plan of events between Kostanay and Grodno regions for 2027-2029,
  • 02a plan of events between Pavlodar and Minsk, as well as Pavlodar and Gomel regions for 2026-2028,
  • 03a memorandum and plan of events on development between Turkistan and Mogilev regions.
