In Kazakhstan, the results of school medical examinations will now be recorded in information systems. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Health, this change will allow primary health care (PHC) specialists to identify risks faster and prescribe examinations in a timely manner.
Essence of the new model
As noted in the ministry, the new model implies strengthening the preventive component. If a student is found to have certain risk factors or changes in health indicators, the information can be transferred to specialists for further monitoring or provision of medical care.
"The new model implies strengthening the preventive component. The task is to identify possible health disorders and risk factors at early stages, when timely preventive measures can have the greatest effect," the Ministry of Health reported.
New responsibilities of school medical workers
In addition to the usual medical examinations, school medical workers will be tasked with:
- 01disease prevention;
- 02educational work;
- 03promotion of a healthy lifestyle;
- 04coordination of actions with PHC organizations.
Project "Salamatty mektep"
The department also developed a special project "Salamatty mektep" aimed at forming sustainable healthy lifestyle skills in children and developing a preventive culture.
"The new model is designed to make school medicine more modern, digital and preventive, so that the child's health status can be not only assessed at a specific moment, but also tracked in dynamics," the ministry summarized.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that Kazakhstan will digitize school medical examinations and give access to parents.
