All four members of Kazakhstan's national team became prize-winners at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2026), held in Tashkent. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The gold medal was won by Aizere Zheniskhanova, an 11th-grade student from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Ust-Kamenogorsk.
This year, the Olympiad brought together more than 350 of the strongest schoolchildren from over 90 countries. The competition consisted of two five-hour stages — theoretical and practical. Participants solved complex chemical problems and performed laboratory work.
Kazakhstan's national team was prepared by Sanzhar Samatuly Begdair, a student at South Korea's KAIST university and winner of international and republican Olympiads, as well as Anuar Nurtazin, a master of chemistry and economics and winner of international and republican Olympiads.
The International Chemistry Olympiad is one of the seven most prestigious subject Olympiads in the world for schoolchildren. Kazakhstan has been participating in the competition since 1998 and regularly ranks among the countries showing high results.
