Kazakhstan has taken first place at the kickboxing world championship with 25 gold medals. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Kazakhstan's national team successfully completed its performance at the WAKO World Championship among children, cadets and juniors, held from September 18 to 27 in the Italian city of Jesolo. The country's athletes achieved the best result in the medal count for ring disciplines.
Tournament results
According to the tournament results, Kazakh athletes filled their tally with 66 medals:
- 0125 gold medals
- 0220 silver medals
- 0321 bronze medals
"Thanks to these 25 gold awards, Kazakhstan confidently took first place in the overall team standings. Serbia took second place with 12 gold medals, while Azerbaijan settled in third with 10 gold medals," the statement said.
Ring program
The ring program of the WAKO World Championship includes full-contact, low-kick and K1 disciplines. At the tournament in Italy, athletes in various age categories – children, cadets and juniors – competed for the world championship awards.
Thus, Kazakhstan's national team concluded the world championship in ring disciplines with 25 champion titles and leadership in the overall standings. In terms of the number of gold medals, our national team outpaced its closest rival by more than double.
