Kazakhstan is being considered as a candidate country to host the international Global Summit of Women. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the press service of Kazakh Tourism NC, Kazakhstan may host the Global Summit of Women for the first time in history – one of the world's largest forums of women leaders in business and public administration.
Following the summit in Istanbul, the international organizing committee proposed considering Astana as the venue for the next event. The delegation of the Association of Business Women of Kazakhstan (ABWK) showed particular activity at the meeting.
Astana's inclusion in the list of potential cities alongside world megacities such as Paris, London, Tokyo, Seoul, and Madrid was facilitated by the high readiness of the capital's infrastructure and the successful holding of the Astana Women Summit 2026 forum.
"Our main task as a national company is to create a synergistic effect and ensure that every participant of the event can fully spend time in our country as a tourist. Just one such weekend fills hotels, activates the work of the catering and service sector, bringing huge income to the city's economy," noted Talgat Gazizov, Chairman of the Board of Kazakh Tourism NC JSC.
Today, the capital has 317 accommodation facilities (hotels, hostels) capable of simultaneously receiving more than 18,000 people. In 2025, the volume of services provided by them reached 74 billion tenge, which is 14% higher than the previous period (65 billion tenge).
According to a survey conducted by Astana Tourism in the first quarter of 2026, the average expenditure per tourist increased to 309 US dollars.
