Kazakhstan supplies 13 percent of oil and 16 percent of uranium imported to the European Union. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wrote this in an article for Euronews. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The head of state proposed another direction for developing bilateral ties — agricultural product supplies. The importance of food security is growing worldwide.
"Kazakhstan is one of the world's largest grain producers and exporters. It can supply significant volumes of products to European markets. European know-how, technologies and investments can deepen processing and increase the added value of agricultural products," Tokayev wrote.
According to the president, today it is time to change the traditional model of "exchanging raw materials for investments and technologies." Instead, deep processing should be strengthened and technology sharing should be initiated. Joint research and enterprises play a key role in this regard.
It is worth noting that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will visit Brussels on June 22-23 to meet with leaders of European countries.
