A children's football team from Karaganda arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Dostlik Cup 2026 festival. However, at the hotel their health deteriorated and signs of poisoning appeared. As a result, the Kazakh citizens were taken to the hospital.

From the moment a call came to the embassy's hotline, Consul Saken Perdebekov immediately went to the hospital and is providing them with the necessary consular assistance.

"A total of 19 people sought medical help. Currently, 17 people, including 11 children and 6 adults, have been admitted to City Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 5 in Tashkent. The condition of all affected persons is stable, and they are receiving the necessary medical care," the statement says.

The situation is under the personal control of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akmaral Alnazarova, and the First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Otabek Imamov.

"Professors from Tashkent Medical University, specialists from the Sanitary-Epidemiological Service and other relevant experts have been involved in providing the necessary assistance. The organizers of the Dostlik Cup 2026 tournament are providing comprehensive assistance to the affected persons," the ministry said.
