Kazakh judokas finished the World Championship in Ecuador with a historic result. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The national team's collection includes 10 medals, three of which are gold. Gold medalists: Rasulhan Gabit (-60 kg), Fatima Supygaliyeva (-52 kg), and Adilzhan Zhaudinov (+90 kg). Silver medals were won by Adilzhan Nurbeken (-50 kg), Adiya Zhanakhmet (-40 kg), Inzhu Zhumazhan (-57 kg), and Bekarys Kudaibergen (-50 kg). Bronze medalists are Akhmet Baubek (-60 kg), Yerik Ussenov (-66 kg), and Yerken Bekali (-73 kg).
This championship entered the history of Kazakh judo with several records. In particular, Fatima Supygaliyeva became the world champion among girls for the first time. And judokas in the weight category up to 60 kg have been retaining the world champion title for the second consecutive year. Additionally, the Kazakh team won three gold medals at a single World Championship for the first time.
The World Championship features 457 young tatami masters from 59 countries. Mixed team competitions will be held today.
