Kazakhstan's national team finished 11th in the team standings at the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Germany. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In the group all-around, the Kazakhstani gymnasts placed 13th and failed to qualify for the finals of individual apparatus events.
Kazakhstan was represented in group exercises by Aizere Kenes, Zhasmin Zhunusbayeva, Kristina Chepulskaya, Madina Myrzabay, Aizere Nurmagambetova, and Aida Khakimzhanova.
Over two routines, the Kazakh team scored 51.050 points. In the exercise with five balls, the team received 24.900 points, and in the routine with three hoops and two pairs of clubs – 26.150. This final result allowed our athletes to take 13th place.
The world champions in the group all-around were gymnasts from Spain with 57.450 points. Silver went to Japan with 56.700, and bronze to Brazil with 55.500.
These three teams also received the first group licenses for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. According to World Gymnastics qualification rules, the top three countries in the group all-around at the 2026 World Championships were awarded berths.
In the qualification for the five balls exercise, our team placed 13th with a score of 24.900. To advance to the final, it was necessary to be among the top eight. The last qualifying position was taken by Brazil with 26.800.
In the routine with three hoops and two pairs of clubs, Kazakhstan placed 12th with 26.150 points. However, this was also insufficient to continue the medal fight: eighth place went to Uzbekistan with 27.250.
Thus, on the final day of the World Championships, Kazakhstan will not be represented in the group exercise finals.
Based on performances in the individual qualification and group all-around, Kazakhstan accumulated a total of 266.650 points and took 11th place in the overall team standings.
First place went to the Russian team, competing under a neutral flag, with 278.300 points. Bulgaria took silver with 276.050, and China rounded out the top three with 275.400. Kazakhstan was 8.750 points behind third place.
Earlier, 16-year-old Akmaral Yerekesheva took sixth place in the all-around final with 115.800 points. On Sunday, August 16, she will compete in the finals of the clubs and ribbon exercises.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships are taking place in Frankfurt, Germany, from August 12 to 16, with athletes from 78 countries. A total of nine sets of medals will be awarded. The composition of the Kazakhstan team is here.
At the Asian Championships held in May in Bishkek, the Kazakhstan team won five silver and four bronze medals.
