The Kazakh delegation, led by Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi, is participating in the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York. This was reported by the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The theme of the session is "Rebuilding trust, managing transformations: the UN acting for the benefit of all." Participants will discuss peace and security, sustainable development, climate change, human rights, digital technologies and artificial intelligence.
The head of the Kazakh delegation will speak at the General Assembly's general political debate. He will present the country's position on international issues and proposals for strengthening multilateral cooperation.
Special attention is planned to be given to Kazakhstan's experience in developing environmental responsibility, volunteering, strengthening the rule of law and social cohesion.
"It should be noted that the priority initiatives of Kazakhstan within the UN remain the creation of an International Water Organization and an International Agency for Biological Safety," the Foreign Ministry said.
On the sidelines of the General Assembly, the delegation will hold talks with the leadership of the UN and its agencies, the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The program also includes bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of a number of countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Canada, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland.
In addition, Kazakh representatives will take part in ministerial meetings of the OIC, the CSTO and the Organization of Turkic States. Participation is planned in events on transport cooperation, investment, ecology and digitalization.
During the session, Kazakhstan intends to promote initiatives in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, the water and environmental agenda, human rights, artificial intelligence and improving the effectiveness of the UN.
