The second stage of the World Boxing-2026 Cup continues in China. In the evening session of the first competition day, Kazakhstan's team was represented by Aibek Oralbai (+90 kg) and Dina Islambekova (+80 kg). This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In the round of 16, Oralbai defeated American Najay Wright by unanimous decision. He will compete for a spot in the semifinals against English boxer Matthew Williams.

Islambekova won her quarterfinal bout by early stoppage against Ireland's Cliona Darcy, advancing to the semifinals. Thus, she has guaranteed at least a bronze medal. In the semifinals, she will face Uzbekistan's Oltinoy Sotimboyeva for a place in the final.

The second stage of the World Boxing-2026 Cup is held in Guiyang, China, from June 15 to 21. A total of 20 sets of medals (ten each for men and women) will be awarded. Kazakhstan's team consists of 17 athletes.

Earlier, Serik Temirzhanov (60 kg), Sabyrzhan Akkalykov (80 kg), and Nurbek Oralbai (90 kg) advanced to the next round of the tournament.
