Today, the women's finals of the Asian Boxing Championships in the U19 and U23 age categories took place in Indonesia. The Kazakhstan national team won six gold and three silver medals. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In the final stage of the continental championship in the U19 category, three Kazakh athletes competed. All of them became winners of the tournament.

Kamila Ospanova (70 kg) defeated Maftuna Yangieva from Uzbekistan, Aidana Ubaidullakyzy (80 kg) and Zarina Tolybay (+80 kg) won against Indian boxers Megi Sheokand and Prechi Tokas, respectively.

Earlier, bronze medalists were Madira Zhumakan (48 kg), Aknur Tursyngali (57 kg), and Aisulu Mukhit (65 kg).

In the U23 category, Asian champions became Gulnaz Boribaeva (48 kg), Aziza Isina (70 kg), and Shugyla Nalibay (75 kg). They defeated Sod-Erdene Binderiya from Mongolia, Raikhona Kurbonboeva from Uzbekistan, and Muskan from India, respectively.

Anita Adisheva (51 kg), Ulzhan Sarsenbek (57 kg), and Kuralai Yeginbaikyyzy (80 kg) became vice-champions of the continental championship. In the decisive bouts, they lost to athletes from Uzbekistan.

Bronze medals were won by Ayazhan Yermek (60 kg) and Panar Seitkhankyzy (+80 kg).

Tomorrow, July 16, the finals in the men's bracket will take place.

The Asian Boxing Championships 2026 in the U19 and U23 age categories under the auspices of World Boxing are taking place in Jakarta (Indonesia) from July 5 to 16, with 329 athletes from 20 countries participating. A total of 40 sets of awards will be played: 20 among boys and 20 among girls. The Kazakhstan national team is represented by a full roster of 40 athletes.
