The second stage of the World Boxing Cup 2026, held in China, has concluded. Kazakhstan's team won five gold and three bronze medals, finishing second in the unofficial medal standings. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Gold medalists: Sanzhar Tashkenbay (50 kg), Abylaykhan Zhusupov (70 kg), Aibek Oralbay (+90 kg), Nazym Kyzaybay (+54 kg), and Victoria Grafeeva (60 kg).

In the finals, Tashkenbay defeated Uzbekistan's Asilbek Jalilov, a bronze medalist of the 2025 IBA World Championships; Zhusupov beat India's Deepak D.; Oralbay defeated Germany's Nikita Putilov; Kyzaybay overcame Italy's Sirine Charaabi, a two-time world championships medalist; and Grafeeva defeated 2024 Olympic champion Lin Yuting from Chinese Taipei.

Bronze medals were won by Aida Abikeyeva (65 kg), Valeriya Aksenova (80 kg), and Dina Islambekova (+80 kg).

China's team won the unofficial medal standings (5+1+3).

The second stage of the World Boxing Cup 2026 took place in Guiyang, China, from June 15 to 21, with 333 athletes from 44 countries. A total of 20 medal sets (10 each for men and women) were contested. Kazakhstan was represented by 17 athletes.

This achievement highlights the high level of Kazakhstani boxing on the world stage. Particularly noteworthy are the victories of Sanzhar Tashkenbay and Nazym Kyzaybay over strong opponents.
