Kazakhstan has delivered humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, including 1.8 tons of medicines and medical supplies, as well as nine doctors from leading medical institutions of the country. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the Ministry of National Economy, the total weight of the humanitarian cargo is 318 tons. Of these, 300 tons are sugar. The rest includes summer tents, bed linen, and essential items.

Kazakh doctors will conduct consultations for Afghans and training for their colleagues for a week.

"The next batch of humanitarian aid sent by our country is not just an act of support, but also a manifestation of solidarity, respect, and responsibility. Today, nine leading specialists from Kazakh medical organizations arrived with us – pediatricians, gastroenterologists, surgeons, traumatologists, and doctors of other specialties," said Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin.

According to the UN, about 30 million out of 45 million people in Afghanistan currently need humanitarian assistance. About 1.3 million children under 5 years old require treatment for malnutrition.

Kazakhstan has been sending humanitarian aid to Afghanistan for 20 years, and on a regular basis since 2021.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that more than 30 wagons of humanitarian aid were delivered to Tehran. Kazakhs sent canned meat, sugar, first-grade flour, medical supplies, and medicines.
