Kazakhstan plans to ban apple imports until December 31, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to a draft order of the Ministry of Agriculture, the ban will also apply to countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). The measure is aimed at supporting domestic producers and ensuring stable sales.

In the first four months of 2026, Kazakhstan imported about 6,550 tons of apples and pears (under the same commodity code) from CIS countries. The largest volume of imports came from Kyrgyzstan – about 2,000 tons. Apples and pears were also supplied from Russia, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan.

In January-April, another 50,000 tons were imported from other countries: a quarter of this volume came from China, and the largest share of shipments, about 28,700 tons, came from Poland, according to the Bureau of National Statistics.
