In the first set, Askar Shalkibayev's charges almost caught up with the opponents who had pulled ahead. In a fiery finish, our team, having overcome a four-point deficit, reduced the gap to a minimum. Unfortunately, Kristina Belova's serve failed – 23:25.

The second set proceeded under the control of our opponents. Having broken away in the middle of the set, the Taipei players confidently finished the segment – 25:16. The final set followed the same scenario. Losing 23:25, 16:25, 14:25, the Kazakhstani women will play for bronze tomorrow. The opponent will be determined in the semifinal South Korea – Vietnam.

The Asia-Pacific Nations Cup, formerly known as the Challenge Cup, is being held for the fifth time. The dozen best national teams of the continent were divided into groups of six. After a single-round tournament, the top two teams from each group advanced to the semifinals. The remaining teams compete for places 5th through 12th. The tournament will conclude on June 14.
