Kazakhstan will start offering new promising subsoil plots prepared under the large-scale State Geological Study of Subsoil (GosGIN) program at investment auctions from 2027. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, this became known during a working trip of Minister Yersayin Nagaspayev to the Ulytau region. The state is changing its approach: investors will be offered not just free areas, but plots with a ready-made, detailed electronic data array.
This year, work has begun on geological surveying at a scale of 1:50,000 (GS-50) at 20 sites across the country. The total area covered exceeds 100,000 sq km, with projects implemented in 11 regions. In the Ulytau region, comprehensive geological studies are being conducted over an area of 36,000 sq km within 7 sites.
Focus on the Ulytau region
Here, comprehensive studies cover 7 territories with a total area of 36,000 sq km. In the Ulytau and Abai regions, specialists have already drilled about 300 wells.
Group of exploration companies formed
To collect high-quality data, a group of exploration companies has been formed under the coordination of JSC "National Geological Service":
- 01**Aerogeophysics:** LLP Kazakhmys Barlau is conducting advanced studies in Ulytau, including aeromagnetic survey, aerogravimetry, and aerogamma spectrometry.
- 02**Drones and RTK:** JSC Kazgeology (part of Tau-Ken Samruk) uses drone systems with high-precision RTK navigation for online control of data continuity.
- 03**Geochemistry:** An advanced high-precision geochemical method, Ionic Leach, is being applied.
- 04**Electronic passports:** In parallel, a unified digital subsoil cadastre is being created. Each promising site will receive its own digital passport, providing investors with fast and transparent access to geological information.
