The security service of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP has uncovered the theft of personal protective equipment belonging to the company. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
An employee of a contractor organization, who worked as a warehouse manager at mine No. 67 "Batys", using a fake waybill, stole Ultra-210 respirators. The total amount of damage caused amounted to 2,131,426 tenge.
The materials of the internal investigation were immediately transferred to law enforcement agencies. During the pre-trial investigation, the suspect fully admitted his guilt, fully compensated the company for material damage, and entered into a procedural agreement on pleading guilty.
As a result of the criminal case, the Satpayev City Court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to restriction of liberty for three years with probation supervision. The convict is also obliged to pay the mandatory payment to the victim compensation fund provided for by law. The confiscated property was returned to the legal owner.
