Kazakhstan will develop a new Orthographic Dictionary of the Kazakh language, which has not been changed since 2013. This was reported on his instagram page by the Vice President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Karin. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to him, disputes over the spelling of the words "qyrkuiek" and "qyrguiek" have reached the state apparatus. And since today the Kazakh language has become a full-fledged language of official record-keeping, the discussion around the spelling of words also affects officials.
The state will not interfere
At the same time, Karin noted that the state will not interfere in exactly how a particular word should be written. This task will be assigned to the heads of agencies responsible for language policy and to renowned scholars. The authorities will only coordinate the process.
"First, a special working group will be formed from among authoritative scholars, which will prepare a draft of the dictionary. Then the presented work will be reviewed and approved by the Interdepartmental Commission," he clarified.

The Vice President added that the last time the Orthographic Dictionary was published was in 2013. However, since then a huge number of new words have come into active use, and it is because of them that disagreements arise.
Karin called for treating the preparation of the new edition as a national project, not to rush, but also not to drag out the process.
