The main UNT-2026 in Kazakhstan has concluded. According to its results, the share of those who chose the Kazakh language for testing decreased by 3.4% compared to last year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

In 2025, 76.5% of test-takers chose Kazakh, but this year the figure dropped to 73.1%.

About 27% of applicants took the UNT-2026 in Russian, and another 383 people took the test in English.

The Ministry reminded that the main UNT-2026 took place from May 10 to July 10. A total of 233,000 applicants participated, who, taking into account two attempts, took the UNT 422,000 times.

"About 76% of UNT participants scored the threshold score, and the average score was 69. As last year, the most popular combination of specialized subjects was 'Mathematics – Physics', chosen by 18% of applicants. Next are 'Biology – Chemistry' (over 14%) and 'Creative Exam' (12%)," said Vice Minister Gulzhan Zharasova.

Recall that in 2026 the UNT format remained unchanged: applicants took three compulsory and two specialized subjects. The maximum score was 140 points, and the test duration was 4 hours (240 minutes).

Earlier, Kursiv reported that a school student from Taraz received an apartment in Astana for scoring 140 points on the UNT.
