IV FCI World Judges Congress
On June 2, at the IV FCI World Judges Congress, the Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan presented a special lecture on the Kazakh Tazy. Expert judges from around the world were told about the history of the breed, its connection with Kazakh culture, exterior, movements, temperament, and features of expert evaluation in the ring.
This format was of strategic importance: the Tazy received preliminary FCI recognition only in 2024, and every performance on the world stage influences progress toward final recognition.
TOP Dog 2026 Show
A separate historic moment was participation in the TOP Dog 2026 show — a spectacular international presentation for a wide audience. Kazakhstan entered the arena for the first time. The flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan appeared on the main screen, and the country's name was announced.
Kazakhstan was represented by the Tazy Daster from Astana, handler Karina Kamibaeva, and President of the Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan Bauyrzhan Serikkali.
Work to promote the Kazakh Tazy
Work to promote the Kazakh Tazy is carried out on the instructions of the head of state. In January 2023, a law on the preservation and reproduction of Kazakh dog breeds was signed. In September 2024, the FCI recognized the breed on a preliminary basis and assigned Kazakhstan the status of country of origin.
For final recognition, the country must continue accumulating breeding and exhibition data. Participation in World Dog Show 2026 became an important milestone on this path.
