President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on the sidelines of the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai. At the end of the meeting, the Cambodian leader invited the Kazakh head of state to visit his country on an official visit. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Manet expressed Phnom Penh's interest in strengthening interstate ties and invited Tokayev to visit Cambodia at a convenient time. Kazakhstan stated its readiness to increase direct supplies of grain, mineral fertilizers and other agricultural products. Tokayev also highlighted logistics, textile and food industries, construction and tourism as promising areas of partnership.

The President offered to share Kazakhstan's developments in the field of GovTech with Cambodia, recalling that the republic is among the top 24 of the UN global e-government development index.

The sides discussed cooperation within global frameworks. Tokayev thanked Cambodia for its support of the CICA and briefed his colleague on Kazakhstan's initiative to establish an International Water Organization under the UN auspices.

Hun Manet confirmed the readiness of the Cambodian government and business community to comprehensively support the implementation of joint projects with Astana.
