Kazakhstan has launched the implementation of the Kashagan gas processing plant project with a capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov, at a meeting with the management of shareholders of QazaqGaz NC JSC, PSA LLP, and NCOC, noted that the project is strategically important for the development of the country's gas industry and is under special government control.

A consortium consisting of China National Chemical Engineering Sixth Construction Company Kazakhstan Branch and China Wuhuan Engineering Corporation Ltd has been identified as the EPC contractor. The minister instructed all project participants to effectively coordinate work and meet project deadlines.

Additionally, QazaqGaz NC JSC was instructed to provide monthly reports to the Ministry of Energy on the project's progress, measures taken, and emerging issues for prompt resolution.
