A court in Kyzylorda has issued a verdict against the person who managed a structural unit of the WornerBros financial pyramid. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The organizer lured citizens into the financial pyramid under the pretext of earning money by watching short videos and films on the WornerBros platform. Participants were offered to register via a referral link and purchase one of the VIP packages ranging from 10,000 tenge to 11 million tenge. They were promised daily earnings of up to 735,000 tenge.
A bonus was paid for each new participant, which encouraged constant recruitment. WhatsApp groups, social media ads, and promotional meetings were used to promote the scheme.
During the investigation, crypto wallets used to collect and transfer depositors' funds were identified. By court order, crypto assets worth 3 million USDT were seized.
The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to 5 years in prison. Civil claims of 24 victims were also satisfied. The verdict has entered into legal force.
