Finance Minister Madi Takiev announced the volume of the state debt. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At the beginning of the year, the total debt amounted to 36.4 trillion tenge. "This is equal to 22.8 percent of GDP. Thus, the state debt remains at a safe level. We must not exceed this indicator of 22.8 percent of GDP to 32 percent. And currently, the volume of state debt is 36.8 trillion tenge, or 20 percent of GDP," Takiev said at today's meeting of the Mazhilis.
It is worth noting that in July last year, the state debt reached 40 billion tenge. Budget expenditures for its servicing are also increasing.
