This year, on October 1, the Day of Older Persons, a number of regions will provide a one-time social payment to pensioners. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The payment comes from local budgets, not the republican budget. Therefore, each region determines its own amount.
Payment amounts by region
- 01In Astana, pensioners receiving the minimum pension – 2.5 MCI or 10,812.5 tenge;
- 02In Shymkent, residents over 70 years old – 3 MCI or 12,975 tenge;
- 03In Ulytau Region, pensioners receiving the minimum pension – 20,000 tenge;
- 04In Karaganda Region, residents over 75 years old – 21,625 tenge.
No application is required to receive the payment. Funds are automatically transferred to the accounts of citizens belonging to the relevant category.
It is worth noting that the one-time social payment for the Day of Older Persons is not provided in all regions. Such assistance is offered depending on each region's budget capacity. In some regions, other social support measures are provided instead.
