The best kumis in the country was determined in Karkaraly. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
At the republican kumis competition held in the Karkaraly district, the kumis of the Aksu farm was recognized as the best. More than 20 participants from different regions of the country presented their products. The jury evaluated indicators such as taste, smell, color, and acidity of the kumis.
The head of the Aksu farm, Erlan Nurmagambetov, attributed the victory to their traditional recipe and special care of the horses. "We keep the horses in the fresh air, feed them only natural grass. We also use a special method in preparing kumis," he said.
The winner received a special diploma and a prize of 500,000 tenge. The second place was taken by the Zhaiyk farm, and the third by the Saryarka farm.
The akim of the Karkaraly district, Bauyrzhan Kassymov, noted the importance of the competition: "Kumis is our national drink, its promotion is the duty of each of us."
During the competition, the beneficial properties of kumis were also discussed. It is known that kumis is beneficial for the digestive system, cardiovascular system, and immunity.
This event is part of the work to preserve and develop traditional drinks in Kazakhstan.
