According to Asel Serikpayeva, the official representative of the Ministry of Energy, who spoke to Sputnik Kazakhstan, technical maintenance at the Karachaganak field was completed on schedule, and on October 1, raw material production resumed at a stable level. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

"The Ministry of Energy reports that the planned maintenance at the Karachaganak field, which began on September 7, 2026, has been completed in accordance with the approved schedule. Production resumed on October 1 as planned and is currently being carried out at a stable level," she noted.

According to agency data, during the maintenance period, the reduction in oil production reached 450,000 tonnes.

In June, due to the suspension of raw material shipments to the Orenburg gas processing plant, production volumes at Karachaganak were also reduced.

Karachaganak is one of the world's largest oil and gas fields. Its reserves amount to 1.2 billion tonnes of oil and 1.35 trillion cubic meters of gas.
