A woman in Karaganda has been fined for slandering her neighbour. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional police department, a 66-year-old pensioner paid a fine of 484,000 tenge for gossiping about her neighbour.
A 34-year-old city resident complained to the police about her neighbour, who had spread a false rumour that she had "given birth to a child by another man."
"A district inspector went around the residents and found the woman who had spread the gossip," police said.
The 66-year-old neighbour who spread the slander admitted her guilt. By court decision, she was fined 484,400 tenge.
