In Karaganda, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) rescued 20 cats, one dog, and two cars during a fire in a residential building. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The fire occurred on Cherkasskaya Street in the Kazybek Bi district. The flames engulfed a two-apartment residential building and then spread to a covered canopy, garage, and outbuildings. The total area of the fire was 100 square meters.
"MES employees rescued 20 cats and 1 dog from the house. During extinguishing, 3 gas cylinders were removed from the burning zone, which prevented a possible explosion. Also, two cars were saved from two garages," the MES reported.
The fire was completely extinguished. According to the agency, no one was injured as a result of the incident.
The MES reminded Kazakh citizens to observe fire safety rules.
