In Karaganda, a policeman and a National Guard officer rescued 5 children from a burning apartment. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred today in one of the multi-storey residential buildings in the city. Senior inspector of the patrol police regiment of the Karaganda city police department Dinmukhamet Sultan, returning home, noticed thick smoke coming from the window of an apartment on the eighth floor. Realizing the extreme danger, the officer ran to the scene without hesitation.
At that moment, he was joined by serviceman of military unit 6505 of the National Guard Askhat Makhanbetzhanov. They went up to the upper floor, entered the apartment filled with thick smoke, and quickly brought out five children who were left inside to a safe place.
Until the relatives of the rescued children arrived, Makhanbetzhanov took them into his home and ensured their safety. After making sure that the children's lives were not in danger, Dinmukhamet Sultan returned to the fire-engulfed apartment, turned off the electricity, and together with a resident began extinguishing the fire in the kitchen until firefighters arrived.
Thanks to the timely decisive actions of the policeman, a tragedy that could have led to casualties and a large fire was prevented.
