A fire broke out near a multidisciplinary hospital in the Karaganda region, leading to the evacuation of 20 patients. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Collected waste paper caught fire on the territory of the multidisciplinary hospital on Mukanov Street in the Kazybek bi district of Karaganda. The flames spread to the wooden roof structures of a one-story annex attached to the main five-story building.

Rescuers, together with the hospital administration, moved 20 patients to a neighboring block of the building for safety. The fire was fully extinguished over an area of 25 square meters, firefighters reported.

Thanks to the prompt actions of rescuers, further spread of fire to the main and attached buildings was prevented. There were no casualties. The cause of the fire is being determined.
