Buketov Karaganda University has issued an official statement regarding information circulating online. The university reported that three cases of tuberculosis have currently been confirmed, while information about ten cases does not correspond to reality. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Results of epidemiological investigation
The university's statement notes that an epidemiological investigation found no connection between the identified cases.
"As a result of the epidemiological investigation, it was determined that the mentioned cases are not interconnected. The patients had no contact with each other. Two of them came from other regions, one is a local resident," the statement reads.
Preventive measures
The university, together with the sanitary-epidemiological service and medical organizations, is carrying out the necessary preventive measures.
Close contacts have been identified and placed under medical observation. Measures have been taken to ensure sanitary safety in the relevant premises.
During the period of the measures, certain groups were temporarily switched to distance learning format.
Medical observation
Close contacts will remain under medical observation for 14 days in accordance with specialists' recommendations.
In addition, additional preventive medical examinations have been organized among students, the university reported.
Academic process continues as normal
The situation is under the control of the university's leadership. With the exception of temporary measures taken in accordance with the recommendations of sanitary services, the academic process continues in normal mode, Buketov Karaganda University reported.
