A resident of Karaganda was fined 484,400 tenge for spreading false information about another woman. In the presence of bystanders, she claimed the victim allegedly "gave birth to a child not from her husband." The woman had to prove her innocence in court. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the court, the incident occurred on June 12: the woman told third parties about the victim's personal life, which the court deemed knowingly false and damaging to her honor and dignity.
"M., while in one of the microdistricts of the city of Karaganda, in the presence of third parties, spread knowingly false information about the victim K. that damaged her honor and dignity, namely, reported information that the latter 'gave birth to a child not from her husband,'" the court statement says.
The woman's guilt, according to the court, was confirmed by witness testimony, an administrative offense protocol, and other case materials.
The Karaganda resident was found guilty of defamation. She will have to pay a fine of 484,400 tenge.
The court's ruling has entered into legal force.
